Hi, Sabine here, founder of tunes&wings. This article is a personal one, since we celebrate 10 years of travelling, connection & dancing. Let's walk down memory lane together and let me show you some raw and unpolished behind the scenes footage.

It started with one week in 2016. Travelling, I connected with local DJs, artists and collectives through a shared love of electronic music, and spent an entire week dancing in the most exciting clubs, eating delicious food and making friends I'm still in touch with today. I came home brimming with ideas and lasting memories. That trip became tunes&wings.

Ten years later, we are still doing the same thing: letting the people who live electronic music culture show you their cities. Here are ten highlights from a decade of places, people and parties.

1. Five print guides: Berlin, Munich, Lisbon, Ibiza and Morocco

Our T[rave]l Guides bring the personal favourite places of artists into your pocket. Five print guides cover Berlin, Munich, Lisbon, Ibiza and Morocco, with recommendations from artists like Stephan Bodzin, Jan Blomqvist, andhim, Amine K, Steffi & Virginia, DJ Alfredo, Mambo Brothers and Innellea. Clubs are only part of it: expect cafés, restaurants, hotels and hidden corners, all picked by the people who actually go there.

2. 200+ articles in our online magazine

Our magazine now holds more than 200 articles: travel reports, guest articles by artists and insider tips for cities all over the world. NTO, Wehbba, Tinlicker and Parra for Cuva have all contributed guest articles and recommendations.

3. 150+ podcast episodes and interviews

The conversations are where tunes&wings began. In our podcast techno&travel stories, we have recorded more than 150 episodes and interviews with artists like Peggy Gou, Innellea, Monolink, Pan-Pot, Oliver Koletzki, Jan Blomqvist, Mimi Love, Recondite, Stimming, BLOND:ISH, Christian Löffler, Fideles, GusGus and Bob Moses.

4. Exploring local scenes with Electronic Beats

Together with Electronic Beats, we explored local scenes beyond the usual hotspots, in cities such as Skopje, Bucharest and Vienna, and let the people who know them best show us around.

5. Exploring local scenes with Heineken

With Heineken, we went on another scene trip: Venice, together with Peggy Gou.

6. Teaming up with IMS Ibiza

In 2022, we teamed up with IMS Ibiza for our Ibiza T[rave]l Guide. The island also got its own magazine story: Ibiza On The Brink looks at how Ibiza's identity is shaped, sustained and reimagined, with insights from Sven Väth, Igor Marijuan, Amnesia and Chinois.

7. Teaming up with Lisbon Dance Summit

For the first Lisbon Dance Summit in 2026, we hosted a panel and created a digital guide with 15 artists and 41 spots. Alex Stein, Branko, David Castellani, Joyce Muniz, Kierastoboy, Patrice Bäumel, Victor Ruiz and Wehbba are among the artists who share their Lisbon, from clubs and cafés to restaurants, beaches and hidden corners.

8. Our guides in shops and hotels worldwide

You can pick up our print guides at independent shops, hotels and record stores:

  • Lisbon: Under the Cover, Carpet & Snares, Collect and Hello Kristof
  • Berlin: Ocelot, Yes Studio and Vertere
  • Munich: Optimal Records, 25hours Hotel and Heisse Liebe
  • Ibiza: Hacienda Na Xamena, Mambo, Mikasa, Juntos and La Paloma

9. Less popular local scenes: Sofia, Riga and Essaouira

We also travelled to scenes that few guides cover, such as Sofia, Riga and Essaouira. There we talked to the people who built these scenes and to those who are shaping them today.

10. The best community

Last but not least: the best community. People from all over the world who love to discover hidden spots recommended by locals. Meeting you in person during trips or on festivals is for sure the most heart warming feeling. Thank you for travelling with us for ten years.
