Phoenix Electronic Music Travel Guide by Michelle Sparks

Projecting a forward-leaning sound infused with deep musicality and raw, stripped-back minimalism, Michelle Sparks’ productions display a hyper-focused and extraordinarily skilled artist, intent on pushing the envelope. Recognised across the industry for her uniquely atmospheric and futuristic sonic palate, her innate ability to synergize complex textures with underground rave aesthetics is second to none, as she continues to explore the limitless boundaries of techno with her trademark minimal grooves and dark, stirring melodies. In this Phoenix Electronic Music Travel Guide by Michelle Sparks, she reveals her favourite spots in the American city for you.

Authentic Japanese Ramen in Phoenix at Azusa Ramen

One of my favorite ramen joints in the Phoenix area, it’s a no-frills little spot but serves up great ramen. They have a variety of delicious broth options, but I usually gravitate to the Tonkotsu or the Shio and make it spicy. Their takoyaki & crispy squid legs are delicious to start.

Korean Fried Chicket in Phoenix at Choys Crispy Chicken

Nestled away in a little food court in the Asiana Market this is a fried chicken paradise. They do Korean fried chicken which is dusted with rice flour before frying and they are light, crispy and decadent. They come with a couple of dipping sauces and some pickled radishes on the side as well. It’s great for a quick meal and if you have a few extra minutes go inside the market and browse the Market for great imported snacks & more from Asia.

Mexican Food in Phoenix at Los Taquitos

With a few locations around Phoenix, Los Taquitos serves up delicious tacos, posole soup, enchiladas, and my personal favorite the breakfast burrito. They open early but they serve the breakfast burritos all day, they’re great for after a late night out! There are also a few off-menu items like the ‘Crispy Flauta Plate’ which is available if you ask!

Some of the best Japanese Foods in Phoenix at Roka Akor

A contemporary Japanese restaurant located in Scottsdale, they have a fabulous robata grill and fine sashimi selections. One of my favorite spots to go sit at the bar for a few small plates or for a night out with a group it’s always a good vibe. The food is impeccable, I especially love the butterfish tataki appetizer, some sashimi for the main entree with some of their crispy brussels sprouts on the side,  and then finish it off with the pot du creme for dessert, or the amazing dessert for two platters.

Italian cuisine at Tutti Santi in Phoenix

A traditional Italian restaurant and a staple in Phoenix for many years, this spot never disappoints. Cozy and intimate inside it’s perfect for a date night or a festive night with a group. The menu is filled with a selection of favorites as well as some unique options. They make their pasta in-house with options like tagliatelle bolognese, lasagne, ravioli, veal cannelloni and more.  The ravioli is a favorite of mine, and I struggle to not order it every time I go because it’s so amazing. The pasta sheets are light and soft with a delicious cheese filling and a perfect sauce on top. Their burrata & tomato salad and grilled octopus are a couple of my favorite starters. Don’t skip grabbing the semifreddo for dessert :).
